  The Jataka tale paintings at Wakhinkone Pagoda are modern depictions created around 2011–2013. They were painted by U Mya Aung (Kay Thi Pan), owner of Kay Thi Pan Photo Studio, who was known for taking still photographs for famous Burmese films, including Pan Dandaryi. He painted them with his son, Ko Naing (Kay Thi Pan).

  The paintings on the eastern devotional hall were created in July 2013, and those on the southern passage were made around 2011. The dates for the paintings in other halls are unknown.

  For the family, these paintings are a memorial to the deceased artist, U Mya Aung. They are also important for scholars studying Jataka tales as they are an example of modern paintings. The paintings also feature the donors' names, which makes them significant for the donors as well.

  Although dark colors were used, the paintings appear less vibrant compared to those done on zinc sheets. However, painting on wood seems to give these Jataka tales a unique and innovative feel. The inclusion of donors' names suggests that the tradition of donating Jataka tale paintings to pagoda halls is still very much alive.

  The paintings in the northern and eastern devotional halls appear to be inspired by U Ba Kyi's illustrations in his book Yokeson Buddhasasanawin (Illustrated History of Buddhism). The ten great Jataka tales are depicted in the southern passage. It's believed that early Jataka paintings were done on zinc sheets, while later ones, like these, shifted to wooden panels.

  Although the paintings were not damaged by the earthquake, they are painted on wood, which has led to some colour fading and damage from termites. They are not regularly maintained. Another example of a painting on wood can be found at Kat-Kyaw Pagoda in Amarapura, which dates back to 1986.

  အရှေ့ဘက် အာရုံခံတန်ဆောင်းအား ၂၀၁၃ ခုနှစ် ဇူလိုင်လနှင့် တောင်ဘက်စောင်းတန်းအား ၂၀၁၁ ခုနှစ်ခန့်က ရေးဆွဲခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး အခြားဇရပ်တန်ဆောင်းများရှိ ပန်းချီများ၏ ရေးဆွဲခုနှစ်အား မသိရှိရပါ။ မိသားစုဝင်များအတွက် ကွယ်လွန်သွားပြီဖြစ်သော ပန်းချီရေးဆွဲသူ ဦးမြအောင်အား ထိုပန်းချီကားများမှတဆင့် သတိရအောက်မေ့နေစေသဖြင့် မိသားစုဝင်များအတွက် အမှတ်တရပန်းချီကားများဖြစ်သည်။ ထို့အပြင် ခေတ်သစ်နိပါတ်တော် ပန်းချီများဖြစ်သဖြင့် နိပါတ်တော်ပန်းချီလေ့လာသူများအတွက် အရေးကြီးသော အထောက်အထားများဖြစ်သည်။ ပန်းချီကား အလှူရှင်များကိုလည်း ပန်းချီကားများတွင်တွေ့ရသောကြောင့် အလှူရှင်များအတွက်လည်း အရေးပါသည်။

  အရောင်ရင့်များကို အသုံးပြုထားသော်လည်း သွပ်ပြားပေါ်တွင်ရေးဆွဲထားသော နိပါတ်တော်ပန်းချီများနှင်ယှဥ်ပါက စိုတောက်မှုအားနည်းသည်ဟု ထင်ရသည်။ သစ်သားပေါ်တွင် ရေးဆွဲခြင်းသည် နိပါတ်တော်ပန်းချီများ ကို တမျိုးဆန်းသစ်စေသည်ဟု ထင်ပါသည်။ လှူဒါန်းသူအမည်များကိုပါ ပန်းချီကားများနှင့်အတူ တွေ့ရသဖြင့် ဘုရားတန်းဆောင်းများတွင် နိပါတ်တော်ပန်းချီလှူဒါန်းမှုသည် ယခုကာလအထိ ရှင်သန်နေဆဲဖြစ်သော ဓလေ့တစ်ခုအဖြစ်တွေ့ရသည်။

  မြောက်ဘက်အာရုံခံတန်ဆောင်းနှင့် အရှေ့ဘက်အာရုံခံတန်ဆောင်းတို့တွင် ရေးဆွဲထားသော ပန်းချီကားများသည် ဦးဘကြည် ၏ ရုပ်စုံဗုဒ္ဓသာသာနာဝင်မှ ပန်းချီများအား မှီငြမ်းအတုယူဟန်ရှိသည်။ တောင်ဘက်စောင်းတန်းတွင် ဇာတ်ကြီးဆယ်ဘွဲ့ကို ရေးဆွဲထားသည်။ နိပါတ်တော်ပန်းချီများ၏ အစောပိုင်းကာလ နိပါတ် ပန်းချီများသည် သွပ်ပြားပေါ်တွင်ရေးဆွဲထားကြပြီး၊ နှောင်းခေတ်နိပါတ်ပန်းချီကားများသည် သစ်သားချပ်များပေါ်တွင် ပြောင်းလဲရေးဆွဲလာသည်ဟု ယူဆရသည်။

  ငလျင်ဘေးကြောင့် ထိခိုက်မှုမရှိသော်လည်း ပန်းချီကားများရေးဆွဲအသုံးပြုထားသည်မှာ သစ်သားပြားများဖြစ်သည့်အတွက် ဆေးအရောင်မှိန်လာခြင်း၊ ခြပိုးမွှားများ၏ ဖျက်စီးမှုကိုကြုံ တွေ့နေရပြီး ပုံမှန်ထိန်းသိမ်းမှုများမရှိပါ။ ၁၉၈၆ ခုနှစ်က သစ်သားပေါ်တွင် ရေးဆွဲထားသော ပန်းချီကား တစ်ချပ်ကိုလည်း အမရပူရရှိ ကပ်ကျော်ဘုရားတွင် တွေ့ရသည်။
