  According to local legends of Inle Lake's pagodas, Mway Taw Nam Sis Pagoda is said to be one of the pagodas built by King Alaungsithu in 1174. The legends state that after building the Inn Tain, Alo Taw Pauk, and Mong Khun pagodas, he constructed this one as the fourth. The pagoda is said to enshrine relics, and its design features 108 stupas, inspired by the 108 beads of a rosary. Constructed with limestone and brick, the pagodas, stucco designs, and reliefs are of the same period as those at Inn Tain, Samka, and Kakku.

  The site is a historically significant structure with artistic ties to the Innwa, Nyaungyan, and Konbaung periods. Festivals are traditionally held here on the day after the full moons of Tazaungmon for the Kathina festival, Tabaung for the annual pagoda festival, and Kason for the Bodhi tree watering festival.

  While local communities and monks actively maintain Nam Sis Pagoda today, the ancient structures have sustained damage from earthquakes and weathering. Preservation efforts primarily involve reapplying plaster with limewash, with a noticeable lack of systematic conservation work.

  မွေတော်နမ့်စစ်ဘုရားသည် ၁၁၇၄ ခုနှစ်တွင် အလောင်းစည်သူမင်းကြီး တည်ထားခဲ့သည့် ဘုရားများမှ တစ်ဆူဖြစ်သည်ဟု ဆိုပါသည်။ မင်းကြီးက အင်းတိမ်၊ အလိုတော်ပေါက်၊ မိုင်းခွန်ဘုရားများကို တည်ဆောက်ပြီးနောက် စတုတ္ထမြောက်အနေဖြင့် ဤဘုရားကို မြှောက်တည်ခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်ဟု အင်းလေးကန် ဘုရားသမိုင်းဒဏ္ဍာရီများအရ သိရပါသည်။ စေတီအတွင်းတွင် မွေတော်များကို ဌာပနာထားပြီး နမ့်စစ်ဘုရားသည် ကိုးနဝင်းပုတီးကို အမှီပြုပြီး စေတီ (၁၀၈) ဆူကို တည်ထားခဲ့သည်။ ထုံးကျောက်၊ အုတ်များကို အသုံးပြုကာ တည်ဆောက်ထားခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး အင်းတိန်ဘုရား၊ စကား၊ ကက္ကူဘုရားတို့နှင့် ခေတ်ကာလတူ စေတီများ၊ အင်္ဂတေပန်း ၊ ရုပ်ကြွလက်ရာများကို တွေ့နိုင်ပါသည်။

  ရှေးခေတ် အင်းဝ၊ ညောင်ရမ်းနှင့် ကုန်းဘောင်ခေတ် ဘုရားစေတီစဉ်ဆက်များ၏ လက်ရာများနှင့် ဆက်စပ်မှုရှိသည့်အနက် သမိုင်းဝင်အဆောက်အဦတစ်ခုလည်း ဖြစ်သည်။ အထူးသဖြင့် တန်ဆောင်မုန်းလပြည့်ကျော် ကထိန်ပွဲ၊ တပေါင်းလပြည့်ကျော် ဘုရားပွဲနှင့် ကဆုန်လပြည့် ညောင်ရေသွန်းပွဲတို့တွင် ပွဲတော်များ ပြုလုပ်ကျင်းပလေ့ရှိသည်။

  ယနေ့တွင် နမ့်စစ်ဘုရားကို ရပ်ရွာဒေသခံများနှင့် ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးများက ဦးဆောင်၍ ထိန်းသိမ်းနေဆဲဖြစ်သည်။ သို့သော် ဘုရားစေတီများသည် ရှေးဟောင်းအဆောက်အဦများဖြစ်သည့်အတွက် ငလျင်ဒဏ်၊ ရာသီဥတုဒဏ်ကြောင့် ထိခိုက်မှုများရှိနေသည်။ ထုံးသုတ်ခြင်းဖြင့်သာ ထိန်းသိမ်းထားပြီး စနစ်တကျ ထိန်းသိမ်းမှုများ ပြုလုပ်ခြင်းနည်းပါးပါသည်။
