Asset Information

The site was originally a wooden bridge built by King Min Khaung I to travel from Innwa to Tada-U. In 1827, during the reign of King Bagyidaw, Queen Nanmadaw Mal Nu's brother, Prince Maung O, rebuilt the bridge with bricks. It was then named the Maung O Bridge and Brick Road.
This bridge stands as one of the best and longest-preserved bridges still in use. Its brick archways and railings exemplify Konbaung era Burmese architecture. Historically, it served as a crucial link for travel, trade, and social connections between Innwa and other cities, making it a valuable testament to Innwa's history and culture.
Currently, the Department of Archaeology and National Museum is responsible for the bridge's maintenance and preservation. However, it faces ongoing threats from natural disasters like floods and earthquakes. To ensure its long-term survival, expert support, advanced conservation techniques, and sufficient funding are essential.

ရှေးမူမပျက်ကျန်ရှိနေပြီး လူများအသုံးပြုလျက်ရှိသော တံတားများထဲတွင် အကောင်းဆုံးနှင့် အရှည်ဆုံးတံတားဖြစ်သည်။ အုတ်မုခ်တိုင်၊ အုတ်တံတိုင်းအကာအရံတို့ဖြင့် တည်ဆောက်ထားသောကြောင့် ကုန်းဘောင်ခေတ်၏ မြန်မာ့ဗိသုကာပညာကိုလေ့လာနိုင်သည်။ အင်းဝမြို့နှင့် အခြားမြို့များအား သွားလာခြင်း၊ ကုန်သွယ်ခြင်း၊ လူမှုရေးအရဆက်သွယ်ခြင်းများအတွက် အရေးပါသောတံတားတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး အင်းဝမြို့သမိုင်းနှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုကို ဖော်ပြနေသော သမိုင်းတန်ဖိုးတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။
