  Shwe Lay Buddha Image was cast and offered in 1893 by the merchants of Nyaung Pin Market. It is a bronze statue measuring one cubit and two spans in height.

  In 1893, under British rule, the government issued an order for all merchants to turn in their bronze Hinthar-shaped weights, which were to be replaced with new iron weights. Instead of complying, the merchants of Nyaung Pin Market gathered their bronze Hinthar weights, melted them down, and cast this Buddha statue. It was named Shwe Lay Pagoda because it was cast from these "golden" Hamsa-bird weights. It is also known as the Rebel Pagoda because the merchants rebelled against the British order.

  This image is treasured as a symbol of the resilience of the Burmese people during the colonial era. The Shwe Lay Buddha Image is housed in the Nyaung Pin Market's community hall for religious purposes, and a Buddha Puja festival is held in its honor annually on the seventh day of the waxing moon of the month of Nataw.

  Currently, the pagoda is kept locked most of the time. It has been treasured and preserved by the Nyaung Pin Market merchants for generations.

  ရွှေလေးဘုရားဆင်းတုတော်သည် ၁၈၉၃ ခုနှစ် ညောင်ပင်ဈေး ဈေးသူဈေးသားများမှ သွန်းလုပ်ပူဇော်ခဲ့‌သော ဘုရားဖြစ်သည်။ ဉာဏ်တော်အမြင့် တစ်တောင်နှစ်မိုက် ရှိသော ကြေးသွန်းဘုရားဖြစ်သည်။

  ၁၈၉၃ ခုနှစ်၊ အင်္ဂလိပ်အစိုးရလက်ထက်တွင် ဟင်္သာရုပ်ကြေးအလေးများကို ဆက်လက်သုံးစွဲခွင့်မပြုတော့ဘဲ ပြန်အပ်နှံ၍ သံခွက်အလေးများဖြင့် လဲလှယ်သုံးစွဲရန် အမိန့်ထုတ်ခဲ့သည်။ ညောင်ပင်ဈေး ဈေးသူဈေးသားများသည် ဟင်္သာရုပ်ကြေးအလေးများကို အင်္ဂလိပ်အစိုးရထံသို့ အပ်နှံခြင်းမပြုဘဲ အလေးများကိုစုဆောင်းကာ အရည်ကျို၍ ဘုရားရုပ်ပွားတော်အဖြစ် သွန်းလုပ်ပူဇော်ခဲ့ကြသည်။ ဟင်္သာရုပ်အလေးခေါ် ရွှေအလေးများကို ကျိုချက်၍သွန်းလုပ်ထားသောကြောင့် ရွှေလေးဘုရားဟု ဘွဲ့အမည်တွင်ခဲ့သည်။ အင်္ဂလိပ်အစိုးရ၏အမိန့်ကို‌ တော်လှန်ခဲ့သောကြောင့် တော်လှန်ဘုရားဟုလည်း ခေါ်ကြသည်။

  ကိုလိုနီခေတ် ရှေးမြန်မာတို့၏ ပုံရိပ်ကိုထင်ဟပ်စေသော တန်ဖိုးထားရာ ဘုရားအဖြစ်တည်ရှိသည်။ ရွှေလေးဘုရားသည် ညောင်ပင်ဈေး ဓမ္မာရုံတွင်ကိန်းဝပ်စံပယ်စေပြီး နှစ်စဉ် နတ်တော်လဆန်း (၇) ရက်နေ့တွင် ရွှေလေးဘုရား ဗုဒ္ဓပူဇနိယပွဲတော်ကျင်းပကြသည်။

  လက်ရှိတွင်လည်း ဘုရားကို ပုံမှန်သော့ပိတ်ထားသည်။ ခေတ်အဆက်ဆက် ညောင်ပင်ဈေး ဈေးသူဈေးသားများက တန်ဖိုးထားထိန်းသိမ်း‌စောင့်ရှောက်လျက် ရှိသည်။
