Asset Description

Mongnai, historically a pivotal location during the Burmese kings' reign, served as a strategic military route to Siam and a base for Burmese troops. From its entrance to its outskirts, the city is adorned with numerous pagodas.
Notable for their unique artistic features are Sin Taung Pagoda (1724), Tha Khaung Pagoda (1767), and Maha Aung Myay Brick Monastery Pagoda (1825). These were constructed through the collaborative efforts of the Saopha of Mongnai, Sao Shwe Myat Noe, and the local community. The architectural style of Mongnai's pagodas is distinct within Shan State, showcasing a blend of Burmese and Shan influences. This unique characteristic has led to Mongnai being known as the "Bagan of the Shan State." Festivals and dharma ceremonies are regularly held at individual pagodas on important religious days.
Currently, the structures have been damaged by natural disasters such as heavy rains and earthquakes. Furthermore, a lack of interest among younger generations and insufficient historical documentation present challenges to the ongoing preservation of these sites.

မိုးနဲမြို့သည် ရှေးမြန်မာမင်းများလက်ထက်က ယိုးဒယားသို့ စစ်ချီရာလမ်းကြောင်းမြို့ဖြစ်ပြီး မြန်မာစစ်သည်တော်များ စခန်းချရာမြို့ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ မိုးနဲမြို့တွင် မြို့အဝင်မှစ၍ မြို့တွင်း မြို့ပြင် စေတီပေါင်းများစွာ ရှိပါသည်။
ထင်ရှားပြီး အနုပညာလက်ရာများရှိသည့် ဆင်တောင်စေတီ (၁၇၂၄)၊ သာခေါင်စေတီ (၁၇၆၇) နှင့် မဟာအောင်မြေအုတ်ကျောင်းစေတီ (၁၈၂၅) တို့ကို မိုးနဲစော်ဘွားကြီး စဝ်ရွှေမြတ်နိုးနှင့် ဒေသခံပြည်သူများ ပူးပေါင်းဆောက်လုပ်ခဲ့ကြသည်။ စေတီဗိသုကာလက်ရာများမှာ ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်အတွင်းတွေ့ရသော စေတီစုများနှင့် ကွဲပြားပြီး မြန်မာ့ဟန်များရောယှက်နေသည်ကို တွေ့ရသည်။ မိုးနဲမြို့အား ရှမ်းပြည် ပုဂံဟု တင်စား ခေါ်ဆိုကြသည်။ အခါကြီး ရက်ကြီးများတွင် စေတီတစ်ဆူချင်းစီတိုင်းတွင် ပွဲတော်များ၊ တရားပွဲများ ပြုလုပ်ကျင်းပကြပါသည်။
ယနေ့အချိန်တွင် သဘာဝဘေးအန္တရာယ်များဖြစ်သည့် မိုးကြီးခြင်း၊ မြေငလျင် စသည့်အကျိုးဆက်များကြောင့် အဆောက်အဦများ ထိခိုက်ပျက်စီးနေသည်။ ထို့အပြင် လူငယ်မျိုးဆက်များ၏ စိတ်ဝင်စားမှုနည်းပါးခြင်း၊ သိမ်းဆည်းမှတ်တမ်းများ မလုံလောက်ခြင်းတို့ကြောင့် ဆက်လက်ထိန်းသိမ်းမှုအတွက် အခက်အခဲများ ရှိနေသည်။
