Han Sann's Essay: A View from the Observer
Following the successful "Exploring Contemporary Art Research in Southeast Asia (Methods, Perspectives, and Practice to Praxis)" webinar series in August and September 2025, we are pleased to share a valuable resource: an essay by our dedicated observer, Han Sann.
Han Sann actively participated as an observer in the entire series and was also the speaker of the third session. He has now contributed an insightful essay, "A Starting Point" or "Defining the Contemporary Issues." This essay offers more than just a summary; it provides his unique views and analysis of the key discussions and complex dynamics that emerged during the three sessions.
This essay is an excellent resource for all attendees to review the full scope of the program and gain a concise, comprehensive overview. For those who missed the live events, it serves as an ideal introduction to the presented issues and discussion points, further enhanced by Han Sann's observer insights. The essay is available in both English and Burmese.

““This three-part discussion, like one of the research methodologies, was a collective discussion where individuals shared their mutual firsthand knowledge within the community.”
