Digital Skills for Arts Administration

Digital Skills for Arts Administration is a program jointly implemented by AMCA and its regional partner, Mekong Cultural Hub (MCH). This program is designed to deliver high-quality training to young artists and professionals within Myanmar's art and culture sectors.

The training aims to significantly impact the lives of these individuals by empowering them to overcome challenges, further develop their artistic practices, and make substantial contributions to Myanmar's cultural landscape.

The training materials for this course were designed and developed by Kaivalya Plays, and Thibi, the local training provider, will deliver the course content. The program is supported by artlink on behalf of South Culture Fund.

  • The program offers two batches, each consisting of three sessions. Each 90-minute session includes an additional 20 minutes for Q&A and will be conducted online via Zoom.

    • First Batch - July 7th, 9th and 11th, 2025 (4 pm to 6 pm)

    • Second Batch - July 28th, 30th and August 1st. 2025 (4 pm to 6 pm)

    This three-day course is divided into three sessions, each focused on practical digital skills for artists and professionals working in the art and culture sectors.

    Session 1: Foundational Digital Tools for Art

    Participants learn how to develop strong project applications, including drafting proposals (Google Docs), creating budgets (Google Sheets), and using AI tools like Gemini or ChatGPT to refine their work. The session concludes with formatting and submitting a polished application.

    Session 2: Digital Event Planning & Promotion

    This session covers planning and promoting cultural events. Participants set up registration forms (Google Forms), manage data (Google Sheets), and create shareable links and QR codes. They also explore strategies for social media promotion and community outreach.

    Session 3: Digital Reporting & Documentation

    Focusing on post-event practices, this session teaches how to archive media (Google Photos), update budgets, write narrative reports, and build comprehensive digital documentation using Google Sites.

  • Interested applicants can choose the batch that best suits their schedule. Each batch is limited to 30 participants, totalling 60 participants for both courses. Registration is conveniently available through Google Forms and is accessible via the links below. If you encounter any difficulties accessing the form, please check your network/VPN settings.

    Selections will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon registration, AMCA will verify eligibility and notify successful candidates via email.

  • Kaivalya Plays is an arts organization led by Varoon P. Anand as its Artistic Director and Gaurav Singh Nijjer as its General Manager. Since 2012, they have built transcultural associations across India and the world. Their artistic work includes original, devised theatre performances that are multilingual, interactive, and hybrid, use technology and media on stage, and are built using techniques of improvisational, documentary, and physical theatre.

    They also offer training programs in artistic development, technical skills, arts management and production, as well as applied improvisation to areas like mental health, gender and representation and climate change. In 2020, they conducted India's first theatre management fellowship whilst in 2024, they completed the first dedicated research project on studying safety in the performing arts in India.
